Introduced in 1965, the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow marked a true revolution in the history of the British manufacturer. It was the first Rolls-Royce to adopt a monocoque body, abandoning the traditional separate chassis, while maintaining the absolute standards of comfort and refinement for which the brand was renowned.
The convertible version, produced in very limited numbers, was bodied by Mulliner Park Ward. Elegant and majestic, it combined the technical modernity of the Silver Shadow with the exclusivity of a convertible body. Its 6.2-liter V8 engine (later increased to 6.75 liters in 1970) delivered power with remarkable smoothness, in keeping with the Rolls-Royce philosophy of prioritizing quietness and flexibility over performance.
In 1969, the Silver Shadow Cabriolet embodied the perfect combination of British prestige and discreet modernity. With only a few hundred examples produced, it remains one of the rarest and most sought-after models in the line, a symbol of timeless luxury and the art of open-air travel in absolute comfort.
